1. Introduction

OpenProfit ("we", "our", "us") provides a profit analytics application for Shopify merchants. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.

2. Data We Collect

When you install OpenProfit, we access the following data from your Shopify store:

  • Order data: Order totals, line items, quantities, prices, shipping costs, transaction fees, refund amounts, and order dates.
  • Product data: Product titles, variant titles, SKUs, cost per unit (COGS), and product images.
  • Store metadata: Shop domain, currency, timezone, Shopify plan, and payment processor information.

We do not collect any customer personal information. We do not access customer names, email addresses, shipping addresses, or payment details.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use your store data solely to:

  • Calculate profit, margins, and cost breakdowns per order and product.
  • Generate analytics dashboards and reports within the app.
  • Send optional email digests and alerts you configure.

We do not sell, share, or transfer your data to third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely on Convex, our database provider, with encryption at rest and in transit. Access is restricted to authenticated sessions tied to your Shopify store.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your data for as long as the app is installed on your store. When you uninstall OpenProfit, all of your store data is permanently deleted within 48 hours. You can also request immediate deletion by contacting us.

6. GDPR and Merchant Rights

You have the right to:

  • Request a copy of the data we hold about your store.
  • Request deletion of your data at any time.
  • Withdraw consent by uninstalling the app.

We comply with Shopify's mandatory GDPR webhooks for customer data requests, customer data erasure, and shop data erasure.

7. Cookies and Tracking

The OpenProfit app uses a single secure, HTTP-only session cookie to maintain your authenticated session. We do not use analytics trackers, advertising pixels, or third-party cookies.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
